The personal belongings of late singer Yao Beina have been sold for nearly RMB2.7m at six charity auctions. Among the more than 600 items, which included songwriting notes, glasses, costumes, dolls and CDs, a red T-shirt she used to wear at the "Voice of China" reality show fetched a whopping RMB260,000. The profits will be donated to a school in the Pamir Mountains in Xinjiang, and will be used to improve learning conditions as well as the establishment of a music classroom. Yao passed away on Jan 16 due to breast cancer. Her corneas were donated according to her will.
